It's my 24x7 Unreal Tournament server (- Atlantis -)
But somehow I can't add it :?
It's configured standard and I tried ports 7777 and 7778, but got server not found (while I'm absolutely sure it's online :(

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanx for all the help, not...
The server is displayed at the UT2004 internet browser list of the UT2004 master server and on Xfire but for some reason not at this site....

I was unable to query the server, and I tried different means of querying.

Are you running an old version of UT?

Also, make sure your firewall has port 7777 and 7778 (if UT is setup to listen on 7778) open.

I'm running the UT2004 Linux demo version v 3334 as a dedicated server because I want demo players to be able to connect. As it display's on Xfire and the UT2004 browse list I don't understand why I can't add it here.
Can it be because I try to add the server from the LAN behind the same firewall (IPCop) where the server is located (on de DMZ) ??
I don't use any special configuration, so the default ports should work and as the server is very buzzy, players see thair pings (in game and on the Xfire browser) I assume I configured my ports correct..

Can you please try again to add (this day I had some eh networking problems sigh... sorry for this, but normally it's almost 24x7 on-line).

Thanx for your attention!

Unable to query your server.
Damn you're fast...
Hmm I can ping www.game-monitor.com/69.16.203.93 I also see (with the IPCop firewall) assured connections on port 7778 from the players.
I don't see any firewall block log's from www.game-monitor.com.

* Interesting when I perform: http://www.game-monitor.com/GameServer/146.50.228.254:7777/
the statistics say "Consecutive Failed: 15". Can it be that after 15 try's the server is no longer queried ?

* I assume you perform a query on port 7778 from www.game-monitor.com ?

* What checks do you perform, do you also use Xfire or an UT2004-demo client ?

Thanx!

Don't know what happend but the server stats for - Atlantis - are online again.
I know you (Wojjie) are working hard on this stuff. Many thanx for this :!: But if possible can you give some information on this subject:

When the server did not show up, I performed: http://www.game-monitor.com/GameServer/146.50.228.254:7777/
The statistics did say "Consecutive Failed: 15".

 Can it be that after 15 try's the server(s) are no longer queried ?
 If so does this correct 'automagically' or can I as admin do
something about this (to restart monitoring again) ?
 What else can I do as admin to get my (UT2004) server monitoring and stats running as good as possible for the "game-monitor" ?

Regards & BIG thanx :!:

The query engine does not run on www.game-monitor.com. Do you have some form of firewall?

Also, after 4 consecutive fails, the query engine will only query your server every 2 hours if non subscriber, or every 30 mins if subscriber till a successful query has been made.

I also see the site reporting your server down again. Is the server up?

1) The server is protected by an industry strength open source firewall IPCop http://www.ipcop.org/ and positioned at the DMZ and runs in a protected (chrooted) environment (like a gameserver should be  ) . There are IP ranges/ports blocked 8) , but as the game-monitor has been able to query the UT2004 demo server (today!) the game-monitor probing machine is not blocked.
2) The server has not been down during the game-monitor probes, because at this moment I see some players via http://atlantisgamer.org/atlantis_portal/atlantis_current_players.html Because the last restart was sunday and the UT2004 demo server application does not restart automatically the server has not been down since then...
Note: player's page will only show up if a match is going on (my own scripting, this uses a webadmin access at 5 minute interval 8). The UT2004 demo server (- Atlantis -) is about 95% of the time 24x7 up (see http://ut2004stats.epicgames.com/). About 1 time per 1,5 months the UT2004 demo server application crashes seems like a memory fauld :?
The Linux OS just keeps running no problems there.
3) - Atlantis - can be very buzzy, at that moments it may be the game-monitor probes time-out (or maybe there's something in the UT2004 Linux demo server v3334 query port implementation which blocks at certain conditions, i don't know, ... do you :?:
 Hmm now I think about it there may also be more events which may fail game query probes, like a map change...

Well I hate this kind of problems so let see..

1) No hits on my firewall on port 7778.
=> The query should come through.
That is, if there are no other obstacles on the road between.
When a query fails do you also try a ping just to see if something is there ?

2) The server is 24x7 up about 99 % of the time.

Did restart the game server at 2006-02-15 around 01.00 CET. Did take about a minute (why ? don't know I thought it may be a wrong UT2004 server state or something which does fail the game-monitor queries??)

3) game-monitor makes successfull probes so far seen before 12:00 CET, somewhere afther that time the game-monitor queries keep failing.

4) server query port 7778 respons with server info and game info also when game-monitor is failing (checked this with ethereal).

Hate to say this but it looks like the problem is on the game-monitor site or somewhere in between.

So with what can I help to solve this problem (a lot of failing of the game-monitor queries while those should be successful) ?

No hits on port 7778 from everyone?

The query engine runs off the ip: 67.43.6.179

I just checked now and the server did respond, it took:
real 0m0.680s

Well I got a few hits on 7778 (and a lot of more ports) from one of the Chinese hackers networks I'm totally blocking 8)

Also turned the max players back to 12. Think 14 players was just a little too much, and may also timeout the game-monitor probes.

Thanx for the information about the query server, if queries fail I can check if there are network issues.

And at this moment ... Atlantis is -super- green

Thanx again :!:

During my vacation the -Atlantis- server went down (for IP etc see previous messages). Game back started the 24x7 server again and (off course) checked game-monitor.com. No -Atlantis- there :(
Can you enable this server again (with it old stats etc.), please ?

You need to readd it, or wait till Game-Monitor finds it.

As for your old stats, they get deleted if you are down for too long. Sorry :(

Sry but it looks like I can't add it from the local network. Same problems as before see this whole post...
My best guess is, because the add server script does try something from my web-client but this will not work because this UT2004 server and my local network are behind a NAT firewall (which is connected at this IP..)

So please can you add it (again) ?

(shame the stats are deleted afther a few day's, had 27 players who voted they liked this server... grrr)
